I've liked Edward Gorey since I got Amphigorey in high school, particularly the wry, macabre limericks in "The Listing Attic." Every once in awhile I write my own pale imitations, which I'll post now and then. Here goes...
As a failed ex-love sonneteer
Lies each night 'top an ebony bier,
He licks a long blade
Of diamond and jade --
For he hasn't been touched in a year.
