The only Final Fantasy game that has been truly non-linear up to this point is 10-2 (albeit they are almost all non-linear the last 10%-20% of the game; I'm referring to the beginning and middle stages), which pales in comparison to the original 10. If non-linearity is what you're seeking in a rpg experience, the Dragon Quest series is far more recommendable.Audacious Epigonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07495507254628580077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19346366.post-1207971767519487922010-04-07T20:45:52.191-04:002010-04-07T20:45:52.191-04:00I'm in the process of playing through the new ...I'm in the process of playing through the new Final Fantasy right now, and while the first 2/3 (? - a guess since I haven't finished yet) is extremely linear, it's pretty wide open once you get to Pulse; there are plenty of meaningless side-quests and you can go get your party waxed by large dinosaurs if you want. I don't understand what everyone's complaining about anyway - Final Fantasy made its name on plot and character development, not freedom, as the Audacious Epigone's reviews attest, and although I'm setting myself up for potential disappointment with the ending, it's already head and shoulders above the last one in that regard.Jokah Macphersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04185675633464395897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19346366.post-74131500532788824812010-04-05T16:51:15.708-04:002010-04-05T16:51:15.708-04:00you should give non-japanese rpg makers a chance. ...you should give non-japanese rpg makers a chance. bioware and bethesda currently make pretty decent non-linear rpgs.pzedhttp://undeadastronauts.comnoreply@blogger.com
