I neve...I'm not seeing what you're seeing.<br /><br />I never heard psych in the late 80's even though I was in college (a prime place for both pop culture verbiage and the right kind of verbal playing). In the mid to late 90's it was all "not!" Then, in the 2000's when I started to work with high school seniors I heard psych, pwned, and punked. Psych was more common earlier in the 00's but I still hear it occasionally. <br /><br />For that matter I'm not sure that Not! is only condescending. I'm with you on As if but Not!, at least among the students I teach, can have a playful "fooled you" connotation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
